Megan Havner, CSM

This fall, LIHHS welcomed a new Client Services Manager to the organization. Megan Havner moved to Lopez Island December of last year, and brings with her over a decade of experience in healthcare administration. Her previous job was as an Insurance Processing Coordinator with Seattle Children’s Hospital, where she obtained insurance authorizations and coordinated complex medical procedures for over 5 years. Prior to that, she worked as a Health Literacy Intern with Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement in Bellingham, focusing on health insurance enrollment and resource referrals for patients in the county.

She brings her passion of helping patients navigate the complexities of the healthcare system to LIHHS, using those same skills to build relationships between our clients and volunteers, and help connect clients to community and county resources. When not at work, Megan enjoys writing, reading, making earrings and other trinkets with clay, taking care of her family’s farm animals (a horse and four goats) and spending time with friends and family. Please join us in welcoming Megan to LIHHS!

Emma Ewert, Office Manager

In March of 2023, Emma Ewert started as the Office Manager. She grew up on Lopez, and moved back in 2021 with her husband and their dog Mardy after hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. She loves working with people in all walks of life, and brings an eclectic experience to her work at LIHHS – she holds a M.Ed in Environmental Education with a certificate in nonprofit management from Western, and has been able to use that to has work in environmental education, run a nonprofit daycare in Yellowstone, and so much more.

Currently, Emma also volunteers on Lopez as an EMT, and enjoys getting to live back on Lopez where she can spend time outdoors, and enjoy life with family and friends. She is excited to further serve the Lopez community through Lopez Island Home & Hospice Support, and especially enjoys getting to connect people to the resources that help make their day to day lives just a little easier.
